Sanimax gets the maximum out of dead animals and oil traps. The company reclaims materials, such as animal by-products and used cooking oils, and turns them into products, such as tallow, glycerin, gelatins, proteins, leather, and biofuels. The company renders by-products of the food and meat industries. It provides food, farm, and industrial ingredients; tans leather; and produces biodiesel. The company's customers include businesses in the pharmaceutical, chemical, cosmetics, leather, energy, animal-feed, and pet-food sectors. Sanimax has operations in the US, Canada, and Mexico. The firm in late 2009 sold off its operations in the Great Lakes region to by-products recycling behemoth Darling International.
